Aug 30: Ohio State vs Youngstown State

First game of the year for Ohio State is versus a D I-AA Youngstown State, who went 7-4 last year.
Last year Ohio State beat the Penguins 38-6 at the Shoe. YSU brings back 21 starters and are lead by their Senior WR Felando Williams Jr. who had 499 receiving yards and 2 TD to lead the Penguins. Williams also had 464 rushing yards and and 9 TD (2nd on the team).

Youngstown State lost it's senior QB from last year and this year the battle will be between Junior Todd Rowan and Junior Brandon Summers. They bring back 2 of their top running backs in Jabari Scott and Jordan Edwards. On D, the Penguins are lead by LB Roshon Simons.

What will it take to win the game for Ohio State?? Don't do what Michigan did last year against Appalachian State. All joking aside...just show up and play OSU football. This game shouldn't be close..Look for a blowout to start the year for Ohio State

Sept 6: Ohio State vs Ohio Bobcats

For the 2nd week of the season, Ohio State will take on another Ohio team in the Ohio Bobcats. Last year, the Bobcats went 6-6 in the Mac. They bring back 15 starters from last year. The Bobcats will have to replace their star player last year in RB McRae. McRae ran for 1493 yards last year and had 19TD.
The Bobcats will give Chris Garrett the ball at RB this year who had less than 100 rushing yards last year and played some WR.

At QB, the Bobcats are lead by Junior Theo Scott. Last year Scott threw for 743yards, 5TD and 3INT. He completed 57.8% of his passes and rushed for 120yards. Bobcats bring back their 2 top WR/TE. One of those players is TE Andrew Mooney. Mooney had 34 receptions for 498yards and 9TD, which led the team in receiving. The Bobcats will, also, bring back their #1 WR in Taylor Price who had 33 receptions for 464 yards and 4 TD. Bobcats are looking for a nice season from sophomore WR LaVon Brazill. Last year he only had 16 receptions for 201 yards as a True Freshman, but look for him to break out this year.

On D-Line, the Bobcats are lead by Senior DE Jameson Hartke and DE Kris Luchsinger. The Bobcats will need to improve their run D because it was ranked 91st last year. Expect Beanie Wells to have a big day for the Buckeyes. The Defensive Backfield is lead by S Michael Mitchell and CB Mark Person who both have 2 INT last year. The LB unit is led by Michael Brown who had 85 tackles and 2 INT. They bring back 5 of their top 6 LB only losing MLB Taj Henley who started all 12 games and had 66 tackles with 7 tackles for a loss.

What Ohio State has to do to win??  Don't overlook this game for the USC game the next week. They do that and they win this game. The game shouldn't be close when the clock hits 0:00.
